„Diplomatija je umetnost predviđanja i komplikovana je“, reči su velikog srpskog pisca Miloša Crnjanskog. Iz tog ugla, film se bavi odnosom Francuske, kao velike sile, i Srbije s kraja 19. veka, ali s osvrtom na 14. vek, kada taj odnos počinje. Prijateljstvo skovano u vatri Velikog rata, i ono što je od njega ostalo danas, prikazano je kroz beogradsku porodicu intelektualaca u potpunosti prožetom francuskom civilizacijom.
Diplomacy is the art of prediction and it is complicated, says the great Serbian writer Milos Crnjanski. From that angle, the film treats the relationship between France as a great power and Serbia from the late 19th century, but with reference to the 14th century, when that relationship begins. The friendship forged in the fire of the Great War and what remains of it today was shown through a Belgrade intellectual family marked by French civilization in every sense.
